Andrii Fomenko, Rector of Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs, took part in Conference “Mass Killings” and in Governing board Meeting in French National Police Academy in Saint-Cyr-au-Mont-d’Or, France
Among the conference participants were representatives from Austria, Azerbaijan, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Finland, France, Italy, Norway, Turkey, etc. President of AEPC Dr. Norbert Leitner and Director of the French National Police Academy Luc Presson made a welcoming speech. During the conference, presentations were made by representatives of Norway, France, Austria and Turkey.
According to the program, Rector Andrii Fomenko made a report “Detection of terrorist attacks committed in Ukraine” and presented the organization of the work of the police, its effective cooperation with the population, coordination and interaction of all territorial bodies. He noted that recently, thanks to reforms in the National Police of Ukraine, a sharp increase in the level of citizens’ confidence in the activities of law enforcement agencies has been recorded, especially with regard to countering terrorist threats.
“Today in the east of Ukraine the anti-terrorist operation continues. New methods and forms of the fight against terrorism are being developed in modern conditions. But I want to emphasize that the foundation of systemic anti-terrorist work was laid precisely in peacetime, through coordination and interaction of law enforcement agencies,” said Andrii Fomenko.
In addition, the Rector of DSUIA Andrii Fomenko and the senior lecturer of the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology Anastasiia Philipp joined the workshop on the topic “How does the Police involve and /or cooperate with partners in the matter of mass killing?”
On the Governing board Meeting of the Association of European Police Colleges, the Association’s work plans for 2020, international events and organizational issues related to AEPC’s activities were considered.
