The Staff International Relations and Internationalisation (SIRI) of the Police Academy of the Netherlands will be organizing the Course “Meeting the Police Education Below Sealevel” , in which the Dutch police education model is set out.
It will take place from March 30th till April 3th in the Netherlands. The participants are expected to arrive in the Netherlands on Sunday March 29 and leave on Friday afternoon April 3. I am pleased to offer you to apply for one seat at this course.
The Government of the Netherlands considers international police co-operation to be of major importance. A grant of the Ministry of Security and Justice enables us to offer this event for free (excluding travel and personal expenses). The participants will be accommodated in Apeldoorn.
The course will offer the participants a program through which they will become more familiar with the structure, responsibilities and training methods of the Dutch police. The varied curriculum covers aspects of our dual, competence-oriented and context-related police education. Various police training facilities will be visited during this course.
The course will be held in English. Applicants will have to be able to understand presentations in the English language and be able to discuss and contribute to interactive parts of the course. Applicants have to be (senior) officers and employed in the field of police education, for instance board members, managers, teachers/trainers and educational developers.
The course is limited to approximately 20 participants. The maximum number of participants per country has been set at 2, unless confirmed otherwise. The composition of the group will be one of the criteria to select who will be participate in this course. The course manager will select who will be admitted to the course. If more persons are interested, please let us know. If places become available, it may still be possible for these people to be given a place. We would like to receive the registration forms of the participants before February 10th 2020.
We take an applicant only into account when we receive the Photo, CV and application form filled in readable, and therefore typed in Word. In the application form we ask about the motivation of the applicant. We want to know which three topics are important for the applicant and which three questions he wants to discuss with the other candidates. We use this information to form the best possible group and learning environment and to tailor-made the program We advise you to ask the applicants to send their applicant form, short CV and photo in CC to you also.
We are informed that you may have the position to select candidates for participation. Therefore I would like to ask your help for enrolment of a participant who is interested in deepening his/her knowledge of police education in the Netherlands.
