«Human rights in the context of contemporary challenge of globalization»

The co-organizers of the event are Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs and Ukrainian public organization «Ukrainian lawyers аssociation».

The purpose of the VI International Student Summit is increasing positive image of the legal profession; participation in the formation of the creative generation of young scientists and practical professionals in the sphere of law; improving knowledge of higher education applicants in actual issues on modern processes of state development, law-making and law enforcement; encouragement of student youth to perform creative self-development.

Applicants of higher education from Ukraine and abroad are invited to participate in the Summit. One team (not more than 3 people) can represent one educational establishment at the Summit.

Due to the introduction of quarantene measures at the territory of Ukraine and in accordance with the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine as of 11 March 2020 No. 211 “On the Prevention of Spreading coronovirus COVID-19 at the territory of Ukraine” the VI International Student Summit will be held on a distance.

Projects can be sent to the Summit Organizing Committee in two variants: video-project and in Microsoft Word format, which will be published in the volume of annual scientific event with the topic “Actual Problems of state development, law-making and law enforcement” (see requirements).

The submitted project has to be searching and innovative by its nature, have scientific and practical importance including the provisions to improve the current legislation taking into account the positive foreign experience and be aimed at solving the following issues in the area of law, legal philosophy, sociology of law, political and government science:

– The legal issues of Ukraine’s internal and external policy formation and realization.

– The rule of law as a model for organizing the power of post-industrial society.

– National security as a fundamental part of vital human, society and state interests.

– Economics System of Ukraine under the conditions of world crisis: legal and institutional development issues.

– Protection of economic, social and other kinds of human rights under the conditions connected with the spread of COVID-19: national and international experience.

– Ensuring decentralization at the local, regional and national levels: Ukrainian, European and international experience.

– Gender equity – the history of formation, international standards, the problems of realization in Ukraine and throughout the world. Fight against gender violence, family abuse, human trafficking and slavery.

– The rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of IDPs in Ukraine and other countries of the world: the question of implementation mechanism.

– Information society development in Ukraine and throughout the world: legal aspect. Information security as an element of Ukraine’s national security. Information wars under current globalized conditions.

– National police of Ukraine: the problems of formation and development prospects taking into account foreign experience.

– Problems of legal system reforming: domestic and international experience.

– The problems of lawmaking in Ukraine in modern conditions of European integration. State of law as the model of postindustrial society power organization.

– The liberal state and modern global and regional challenges.

– Political and legal determination of current global society. Ukraine and global civil society.

– Young people as creative power of current changes in global society.

Project requirements: front page, table of contents, list of abbreviations (if necessary), main text (up to 20 pages), bibliography, appendix; font: Times New Roman, font size 14 pt, style – normal, interval is 1.5; document margins: on the left, at the bottom and on top – 20 mm, on the right – 10 mm; paragraph – 12.5 mm, full justification. References should be formed in square brackets, for example [4, p. 3], [8, p. 25; 9, p. 14].

The event participants shall send their video-projects (no longer than 10 min.) and Microsoft Word format projects at Summit_dduvs@ukr.net for their further publication.
Each team must complete registration process well in advance. Registration involves submitting a completed entry form to the organizers (see Appendix Entry Form). After 2-3 days of successful registration participants will receive a confirmation email.

Entry forms should be submitted to the address: Summit_dduvs@ukr.net and marked «To Summit. (Name of the team’s education establishment)» in letter subject.

Deadline for submitting video and Microsoft Word format projects is 11 May 2020.

The participants’ video-projects will be evaluated by the International Jury including national and international professionals in the sphere of law, power bodies representatives, politicians, etc.

According to the results of the VI International Student Summit, on the decision of the International Jury best teams will be awarded I, II, III degrees diplomas, diplomas in certain categories, special awards, and each team will receive memorabilia and prizes from the organizers and partners of the event. Diplomas and valuable gifts will be sent to teams at their placement (upon the prior agreement) (by means of Nova Poshta) after defining the results.
