Seminar-trainings “Fundamentals of Special Police Units Tactics According to the Scandinavian Model of Public Security and Order Provision during Peaceful Meetings and Other Major Events” started at Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs. Law enforcement officers will be studying the experience of the specialized team of trainers in public security from Guardia Civil (Spain) within 12 upcoming days.
Andrii Fomenko, DSUIA Rector, police colonel, opened the festive event.
“You will be trained by our colleagues from Spain. You have already gained certain experience and now your task will be to obtain new skills and knowledge, since this professional development opportunity will be of use in your entire activity. I wish you all the success, inspiration and fruitful work ahead”, Andrii Fomenko emphasized.
Fernando Magro Moros, head of the specialized team of trainers in public security from Guardia Civil (Spain), addressed to the participants as well.
“Our mission is not to train you; our mission is to work together with you shoulder by shoulder to achieve the maximum professionalism of the police officers, who serve in the special units. We will be squeezing every second of time during the next 12 days ahead. I am also so grateful to the University and the Rector for give us the opportunity to use their impressive facilities for training”, Fernando Magro Moros stated.
Volodymyr Bohonis, Deputy Head of the Main Department of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk region, police major, highlighted the significance of the trainings in his turn.
“The Scandinavian model of providing public order and security has proved to be the most efficient one. This system is based on turning from the reactive to proactive model. Proactive approach obliges us to predict future events and react accordingly”, Volodymyr Bohonis stressed.
It shall be mentioned that the series of trainings “Fundamentals of Special Police Units Tactics According to the Scandinavian Model of Public Security and Order Provision during Peaceful Meetings and Other Major Events” started today on the basis of Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs. 70 police officers from special police units will be studying the Scandinavian model during the first cycle of trainings delivered by the specialized team of trainers in public security from Guardia Civil (Spain), the EUAM and UNO experts as well as the representatives of the National Guard of Ukraine.
Training series includes 3 cycles of seminars, and participants will pass exams upon their completion. The Scandinavian system aspects of public order provision subject to studying by law enforcements include crowd psychology, team building and complex maneuvers, evacuation and diffusion, etc. Police officers will not only learn theory in terms of the trainings, but also constantly work out new system application during practical exercises.
Under the results of the selection among training participants a group will be formed for further studies in terms of the specialized training for trainers, upon the completion of which police officers will get relevant certificates.
