Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs, National Academy of Internal Affairs, Lviv State University of Internal Affairs and Luhansk State University of Internal Affairs named after Е.О. Didorenko conducted All-Ukrainian Scientific-and-Practical Conference “Legal, Criminological, Procedural and Criminalistics Problems of Combatting Crime under the Martial Law”. The event was held online and offline.
Andrii Fomenko, DSUIA Rector, police colonel; Yevhen Bodiul, deputy director of the Department of Education, Science and Sport of the MIA of Ukraine; Roman Blahuta, LvSUIA Rector; as well Vitalii Komarnytskyi, Rector of LSUIA named after Е.О. Didorenko, greeted the participants.
According to Rector Andrii Fomenko, the key aim of the event was creating the professional stage for open dialogue, sharing thoughts, exchange of information in terms of recommendations for law enforcement bodies and the court as for documenting, investigating and solving war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by russian soldiers at the territory of Ukraine.
Moderators were Larysa Nalyvaiko, DSUIA vice-rector; Serhii Cherniavskyi, NAIA vice-rector; Olha Balynska, LvSUIA vice-rector; Mykola Karchevskyi, LSUIA named after Е.О. Didorenko the first vice-rector.
More than 100 participants joined the event, including scientists in the area of criminal justice, representatives of law enforcement bodies and courts, scientific-and-pedagogical staff of the HEIs as well as students and cadets.
In course of the conference, participants discussed new criminal legislation of Ukraine adopted under martial law, separate issues of giving evidence in criminal proceedings under martial law, peculiarities of criminalistics of providing separate search actions at investigating war crimes under martial law, as well as separate organizational and procedural issues in course of explosive examinations under martial law, etc.
DSUIA representatives presented their reports. Serhii Babanin, associate professor of the Criminal Law and Criminology Department, told about separate features of criminal violations stipulated by Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Collaborative Activity” and determined punishment.
Volodymyr Shablystyi, head of the Department of Criminal and Law Disciplines, presented his work “Genocide of Ukrainians at XXI Century: How to Bring russists to Justice”.
Viktoriia Rohalska, associate professor of the Criminal Process Department, paid attention to separate aspects of pre-trial proceedings under martial law.
Relevant recommendations regarding actual issues were adopted under the results of the conference.
