Participants of the meeting included Aliona Verbytska, Advisor-Authorized of the President in the Provision of Rights of the Defenders of Ukraine; Oleh Kotenko, Authorized in Missing Persons under Special Conditions; Mykhailo Kotelevskyi, head of the Repatriation Department of the Central Directory of Civil-and-Military Cooperation of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, colonel; Alla Makukh, head of the civil organization “All-Ukrainian Civil Movement of Mothers and Relatives of the Participants of Anti-Terrorist Operation ‘Berehynia’”.
Andrii Fomenko, Rector of Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs, police colonel, stated that the day was substantial for the university staff, since it was necessary to joint efforts to provide Ukrainian defenders and their families with due legal, psychological and social protection during the hard times for our state.
Two centers with the priority in social work with the community operate on the basis of our university. These are the centers of legal and psychological aid. Having joined their opportunities and the efforts of their staff, our defenders and their families will obtain greater support and protection from the state, Rector emphasized.
According to Aliona Verbytska, such consultation center has already been opened in Kyiv region and the ones in Mykolaiv and Odesa regions were upcoming.
Thanks to coordination between families, lawyers and university management today we are experiencing the opening of such center in Dnipro. We join our efforts to strengthen the rear of our defenders, since the need feel that their fight for Ukraine is meaningful. They won’t stay alone with their problems and will definitely receive help, consultation and support, the head highlighted.
Having shared their ides regarding further operation of the consultation center, DSUIA Rector Andrii Fomenko and the head of civil organization “Berehynia” Alla Makukh signed the Memorandum of Cooperation and.
Upon the Memorandum signing the consultation center was solemnly opened.
Semion, Bishop Dniprovskyi and Kryvorizhkyi of the Ukrainian church, consecrated the Center premises and prayed.
Center specialists will work with different categories of citizens. In particular, with military men, captives, released from captivity or demobilized from the military service as well as with their families, relatives of missing persons or killed soldiers. The key task is to provide legal, psychological, informational and consultation support to guarantee the protection of rights and basic freedoms of military men and their families.
