Cadets of the Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs found an 84-year-old woman in a helpless state with frostbitten feet. She got lost, injured her leg, and spent the whole night in the field.
On Friday, January 20, a missing woman was searched for in the village of Ocheretuvate, Synelnykiv district. She was found by workers of the operative unit together with cadets of the 3rd year of the criminal police department of the State Criminal Police Department. Currently, Illia Lytvyn and Yevhen Marshalov are undergoing internships at the Sinelnyk District Office.
The guys said they found an elderly woman after two and a half hours of searching the area. Prior to that, patrol police officers were looking for the woman all night.
On January 19, around one o’clock in the afternoon, a resident of the village Ocheretuvate left the house for a walk. When she did not return home after several hours, the relatives contacted the police. They said that the grandmother has bad eyesight and moves with two sticks.
“The woman was in a helpless state. She was shivering all over from the cold, complaining of sharp pain in her leg. By the way, she wasn’t wearing any shoes, she must have lost them somewhere in the field. She begged to take her home,” said cadet Illia Lytvyn.
An ambulance was called. But the woman went so far that we had to carry her in our arms for about 40 minutes to the roadway.
“We carried them one by one, very carefully, realizing that the woman might have had a broken leg, which, by the way, had been previously diagnosed by medical professionals. Otherwise, the ambulance would not have been able to get to the place where the elderly woman was lying,” said cadet Yevhen Marshalov
As it turned out later, the elderly woman moved 5 km away from home. Fortunately, after a long search, she was found. Miraculously, the woman survived the frosty night and waited for rescue.
