The series of training of the European Union Advisory Mission has been started at DSUIA

The series of training on the topic “Mediation as a tool for settlement of civil and administrative disputes and resolution of minor criminal offences” are held by the EUAM representatives for students of Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs.

The training is conducted by an experienced trainer Martinš Tools, the EUAM Advisor on Good Governance and Human Resources Management (Latvia).

Students of the Department of Psychology and Pedagogy of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law and Innovative Education and cadets of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Preventive Activities Units attended the training.

At the beginning of the training, Martinš Tools revealed the concept of conflict in order to understand how to properly manage conflict situations and introduced the used conflict management strategies.

During the training, special attention was paid to mediation as a tool for settling civil and administrative disputes and solving minor criminal offenses. The participants of the training mastered the principles and rules of mediation, which can be applied by the police during the performance of their duties in communicating with participants in conflict situations. It was especially interesting for the participants to work out practical cases for each of the discussed topics of the training.

The EUAM training will be held during the week.
