In 2023, teachers of the Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs mastered the educational course on non-technical survey and prevention of risks from explosives that was developed by TetraTech (USA). The company’s specialists checked the quality of assimilation of the course materials and their introduction into the educational process.
The course curriculum covered non-technical survey (NTS), mine and explosive ordnance risk education (EORE), survey techniques and public relations skills, topography, and the use of UAVs and drones. The course was conducted by the specialists of the TetraTech company (USA) for the scientific and pedagogical staff of DSUIA.
The teachers of the Department of Tactical and Special Training of DSUIA conducted impromptu classes for TetraTech specialists. The experts completed the task of identifying explosive objects, their further description, determining impressive factors, etc.
“We attended two classes. It was a lecture on working with a laser rangefinder and a practical class on recognizing the presence of explosive objects in the area. I must note that the learning process is well-structured, and the material is presented confidently by teachers. This course can be used as a baseline for area survey and demining skills,” – , commented Charlie Martel, TetraTech Communications Officer.
