A binary class on tactical medicine was conducted at DSUIA

The event was organized by the department of tactical and special training at Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs for students of the “Police Academy.”

The binary class featured Oleksandr Mashchenko, the instructor of the cycle of special disciplines of the “Police Academy”, a police captain, and Oksana Myslyva, an assistant professor of the TST department, a police lieutenant colonel, presenting their practical training in providing emergency assistance.

This knowledge was obtained as part of the implementation of the Erasmus+ grant program under the topic ERASMUS-EDU-2022-CBHE “Simulation medicine and scenario-based learning for emergency care” with the use of special medical equipment.

The trainees mastered the provision of tactical emergency aid to the victim in the zone of indirect and direct threat in civilian and field conditions and worked out the MARCH(E) aid algorithms at the training.

The participants learned how to stop critical bleeding, use hemostatic tourniquets, ensure airway patency, etc.
