The initiative to establish the movement was spearheaded by DSUIA Rector, Police Colonel Oleksandr Morgunov, and the head of the NGO “Dniprovsky Medical Cluster,” Anna Kyrychenko.
Participants of the launch event for the Police Volunteer Movement noted that the main directions of the movement’s work include:
⦁ Assistance to the military (camouflage nets, trench candles, generators, first aid kits, food, medicines, medical supplies);
⦁ Support for medical institutions and orphanages (medicines, medical supplies, toys, clothing, food, hygiene products, etc.);
⦁ Aid to internally displaced persons and civilians affected by the war (medicines, medical supplies, clothing, food, hygiene products, etc.).
Specific cadet groups are assigned to each direction of work.
All activities within the movement are aimed at national-patriotic education (lectures for cadets, excursions, discussions, etc.).
According to the movement’s concept, the first visit was made to the “Dniprovsky Regional Clinical Oncology Dispensary (DOR).” Among the visitors were five DSUIA cadets who brought humanitarian aid (vitamins, fruits). During the visit, the participants had the opportunity to visit the Museum of the History of the Oncology Dispensary and attend a motivational preventive talk on women’s health by the CEO, Yuliya Zavorotnya.
