Sports quiz competition for students of DSUIA

For the students of the Institute of Law and Innovative Education in a distance format, a quiz competition titled “Law Enforcers Are Not Standing Aside” was organized and held.

It was conducted by senior instructors of the Department of Physical Education and Tactical-Special Training of the Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs, Viktor Schastlivets and Ihor Chobotko.

The goal of the competition was to evaluate the acquired professional skills in performing special techniques for detaining offenders, which the students mastered at home during distance learning using developed teaching materials (video tutorials and methodological recommendations) by the instructors.

In the first stage, the works of all participants received during April 2024 were evaluated by the instructors. In the second stage, the best 11 videos were selected. The following participants took part in the competition: Dana Bahatska, Vladyslav Holubenko, Pavlo Liubchenko, Diana Pashchenko, Yuliia Romma, Azariy Savenko, Oksana Trukhon, Artem Shevchenko, Aliona Yaroshenko, Andrii Shkurenko, and Yuliia Kasyan.

To ensure an objective assessment of the works, four instructors from the department specializing in profile disciplines and the students of these groups were invited to evaluate the videos.

The best video demonstrating the performance of special techniques for detaining offenders was determined on a five-point scale based on the following criteria:

Correctness in performing defensive actions and escorting the offender;

Quality of the recorded video;

Quality of performing techniques for detaining the offender (speed, integrity of actions, realism).

51 students participated in the online voting. Based on the results of the voting by instructors and students, the winners of the competition were determined:

1st place – Group B-LEA-332, student Diana Pashchenko;

2nd place – Group B- LEA -331, student Yuliia Romma;

3rd place – Group B- LEA -333, Vladyslav Holubenko.
