Events commemorating Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in World War II 1939 – 1945 were held at DSUIA

Last year, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine legislatively established May 8 as the Day of Remembrance and Victory – the only date when Ukraine celebrates victory over Nazism and honors the memory of those who perished in World War II.

After the performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine, attendees observed a minute of silence to honor the memory of all those who died in World War II. A group of cadets laid flowers at the monument to the defenders of Ukraine.

Rector of Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs, Alexander MORHUNOV, noted that our compatriots fought against Nazism in many armies around the world, military formations, and partisan movements. The head of the institution emphasized that especially now, in the face of full-scale Russian invasion, it is important to remember all those who secured the right to existence for the Ukrainian people.

At the end of the events, cadets and officers marched in a solemn procession.
