The event was conducted online by the public organization “Association of Psychologists of Higher Education of Ukraine.”
Psychologists from Kyiv, Sumy, Odesa, Kharkiv, Dnipro, and Zaporizhzhia participated in the lecture, with over 50 specialists in total. The Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA) was represented by Serhii Vyshnevskyi, Head of the Psychological Support Department.
Vyshnevskyi presented two years of experience of DSUIA psychologists working under martial law conditions, specifically focusing on activities conducted in shelters during air raids. He highlighted the main areas of psychological work in shelters and bomb shelters, discussing methods and exercises that have proven effective in providing psychological support in extreme conditions, elevated anxiety, and large gatherings of people.
He also emphasized that a special location, a psychomotional stabilization point, has been established for psychologists’ work at DSUIA. This location drew attention and interest from lecture participants.
As a result of the exchange of views, higher education institution psychologists noted the DSUIA psychologists’ system of work in shelters as effective and plan to apply the practical experience gained in their own activities.
