The Odesa State University of Internal Affairs organized the International Scientific and Practical Conference, with other higher education institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as co-organizers.

The moderator of the section “Child Safety: Legal, Organizational, Psychological, Educational, and Informational Dimensions” was the Vice-Rector of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Scientist and Technician of Ukraine, Police Colonel Oleksandr Yunin. He noted that the relevance of the scientific event’s theme is driven by the horrific crimes committed by the armed forces of the Russian Federation and their consequences for children.

The conference section was held in a hybrid format, serving as a platform for discussing contentious and problematic issues related to the violation of children’s rights during martial law, holding accountable those responsible for violating laws regarding children, and more. The participants included police officers, academic and teaching staff, representatives of state authorities, NGOs, psychologists, educators, and volunteers. In total, more than 100 participants took part in the section of the conference.

Attendees delivered reports and discussed crucial aspects, including issues of protecting children’s rights and interests in Ukraine, creating a safe environment for the educational process during martial law, and responding to instances of domestic violence. Based on the conference results, scientific, methodological, and practical recommendations will be developed and subsequently implemented in the educational process and the practical activities of law enforcement agencies and human rights organizations.
