NEWS

Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA) held a commemorative event, “Bell,” in honor of the children who lost their lives due to the Russian Federation’s armed aggression against Ukraine.

The morning at the university began with an assembly on the parade ground and the performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine. Attendees honored the memory of the deceased with a moment of silence. Rector Oleksandr Morgunov addressed the cadets and officers.

In his speech, the head of the institution stated that according to official information, over 500 children have died, and more than 1300 have sustained injuries of varying severity. This is evidence of Russian crimes against humanity, global values, and morality. Oleksandr Morgunov emphasized that thanks to the efforts of the security and defense sector, children have a future, and it is for the sake of the children that Ukrainians are building a free and independent democratic country.

As part of the “Bell” event, a group of cadets attached small bells to the branches of trees near the monument to Ukraine’s defenders. Each bell symbolized the voice of a child that will never be heard again. The Day of Remembrance for children who died due to the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine is observed annually on June 4, established by the decision of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on June 1, 2021.
