A session on “Police Actions Using Stationary and Mobile Metal Detectors” was held for students specializing in educational security services and the primary professional training, specialization, and advanced training department of DSUIA
The session was conducted by Major Oleksii Novikov, an inspector of the Physical Security Department of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Police Protection Department. The focus was on the legal basis for using portable and stationary metal detectors in police activities, procedures, and features of conducting superficial inspections by police officers of educational process participants and visitors to general secondary education institutions.
The technical characteristics and capabilities of metal detectors were reviewed. The experience of using these devices in the police protection service during the protection of critical infrastructure objects and the first stage of the pilot project “Educational Security Service” from January to May 2024 was examined.
