The Day of Ukrainian Statehood is celebrated annually in Ukraine on July 15, the Day of the Baptism of Kyivan Rus — Ukraine.
Today we celebrate the Day of Ukrainian Statehood. This date is significant for our Homeland as it reminds us of the historical foundations and continuity of Ukraine’s existence. From the baptism of Kyivan Rus and the times of the Cossacks, from the first national liberation struggles to the turbulent present when the Ukrainian people daily assert their right to freedom and independence in fierce battles with the russian aggressor, giving it a worthy rebuff.
This day also reminds us of our duty to future generations — to preserve our history and build a modern European democratic state that will confirm its worthy place on the international stage with a future victory.
Glory to Ukraine!
Sincerely,
Rector Oleksandr MORGUNOV
