Striking Techniques and Ring Movement: Martial Arts Training at DSUIA

NEWS, Sport for military veterans

Martial arts training sessions for military veterans are ongoing at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, conducted by the Department of Special Physical Training.

Sports play an essential role in veterans’ rehabilitation: DSUIA regularly conducts training sessions in tennis, firearms, and martial arts.

At a martial arts session, participants practiced striking techniques, ring movement, and more. The training was led by Volodymyr Rohalskyi, a lecturer at the Department of Special Physical Training at DSUIA.

Martial arts sessions help tone muscles, and train the respiratory and cardiovascular systems. Many veterans, who practiced martial arts before their injuries, are now restoring their skills. Today, DSUIA provides opportunities to engage in adaptive sports as a means of social integration and adaptation to peaceful life, focusing on physical activity and the development of abilities.

DSUIA invites you to weekly martial arts training every Thursday at 15:00, at 26 Nauky Avenue. The event is part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ “Friendly Support” project. #FriendlySupport
