The Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA) firmly stands on the path of auto-training and has become a reliable partner for every veteran or person with a disability who has decided to become a driver.
Vice-Rector of DSUIA, Ihor KOVALIOV, congratulated the military personnel on receiving their Category B licenses. He noted that the men confidently hold the steering wheel and are ready to become full participants in road traffic. The head of the DSUIA Driving School, Yevhen KHOHLOV, also came to support the men during the exam. A former military man himself, Yevhen was injured and lost limbs in 2022. He now demonstrates through his own example that obtaining a driver’s license is an urgent need and a path to normal life.
Military serviceman Mykola served in the 108th Territorial Defense Brigade. After being wounded and losing a lower limb, he is undergoing treatment but confidently walks using a temporary prosthesis. Today, as a military veteran, Mykola is sure that providing the opportunity to obtain a driver’s license for people with disabilities is an important step toward creating an inclusive society where all citizens have equal rights and opportunities.
Mykola and Yevhen became students of the DSUIA Driving School for People with Disabilities after seeing information about the school’s activities on social media. They share their impressions and advise not to hesitate: the instructors’ experience allows them to feel comfortable throughout the lessons, the cars are modern, and they can choose between a manual or automatic transmission.
The men traditionally went through the theory, passed the exam at the service center, and started practical lessons. Today, they hold their licenses and say they are now more mobile and can move around the city more freely.
A driver’s license becomes a tool that allows each student to adapt to a new life faster, return to their favorite activity, or even learn a new profession and find employment.
Why is obtaining a driver’s license so relevant for people with disabilities?
During the full-scale Russian invasion, the number of military personnel who were injured or suffered various degrees of injury has constantly increased. Along with this, the problem of their employment has become more urgent. By mastering the profession of a driver with a Category B or C1 license, people with disabilities can significantly expand their opportunities to find decent work.
The DSUIA Driving School for People with Disabilities invites individuals with disabilities to obtain a driver’s license for categories «B» and «C1».
