A practical session on “Police Actions in Various Situations of Service” was conducted with trainees from the DSUIA Police Academy’s Initial Professional Training Center.
The session focused on real-life scenarios encountered by police officers, including issues related to military aggression, high anxiety levels, depression, aggressive behavior, and PTSD symptoms.
Trainees, guided by psychological support specialists, learned to identify PTSD signs, practiced de-escalation techniques, and discussed effective verbal conflict resolution strategies.
According to Taissa Lavrova, the session instructor, a police officer’s role involves close interaction with citizens who may be in various psychological and emotional states. These differing states can lead to varied behavioral responses, which law enforcement officers must handle with appropriate and effective reactions.
