Opening of the Dnipro Security and National-Patriotic Education Lyceum

On September 2, 2024, the Dnipro Security and National-Patriotic Education Lyceum was officially opened. The opening ceremony took place on Knowledge Day, with the participation of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Ihor Klymenko.

At the lyceum, which is based at the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, 150 students who successfully passed the entrance exams began their studies, proudly carrying the title of Lyceum Student.

In his welcome speech, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine emphasized, “Our goal is for each lyceum student to receive the highest quality and comprehensive knowledge. For everyone who entered our lyceums, this is the first serious and independent step into adult life. I would like to wish you to find true friends here. May your teachers work with you in such a way that you become not only the elite of our department but also of the entire country.”

The ceremony of initiation and awarding of epaulettes was also attended by representatives of local and regional authorities, the lyceum’s teaching staff, the leadership of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, lyceum students, and their parents. Along with Minister Ihor Klymenko, epaulettes were also awarded to the lyceum students by the Director of the Department of Education, Science, and Sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Oleksandr Tarasenko, the Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration – Head of the Regional Military Administration Serhii Lysak, the Head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk Region Oleksandr Hanzha, the Head of the Central Territorial Administration of the National Guard of Ukraine Denys Shlega, the Head of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk Region Yurii Koretskyi, and the Rector of DSUIA Oleksandr Morgunov.

Addressing the audience, the Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration – Head of the Regional Military Administration Serhii Lysak noted that from today, 150 motivated lyceum students, full of inspiration, confidence, and curiosity about life, have begun their studies: in the future, they can become either law enforcement officers, rescuers, or military personnel, but in any case – patriots of their country.

After the official part, there was an introduction to the lyceum’s educational base: Rector Oleksandr Morgunov and Director of the Dnipro Lyceum Oleksandr Tverdokhlib demonstrated to the guests modern classrooms, specialized training rooms, a residential complex, recreational areas, and sports grounds.

The Dnipro Security and National-Patriotic Education Lyceum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine will educate children of military personnel, police officers, servicemen of the civil protection service, the State Border Guard Service, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the State Migration Service, the National Guard of Ukraine, and other employees of the security and defense sector.
