During the 100-meter race, Oksana Boturchuk confidently claimed silver, setting a Ukrainian record for the number of athletics medals won at the Paralympics, making her the most decorated Ukrainian track and field athlete in Paralympic history.
The XVII Summer Paralympic Games in Paris feature nearly 4,500 athletes from 182 countries.
On September 5, 2024, Boturchuk, alongside her guide Mykyta Barabanov, finished second in the 100m T12 category with a time of 12.17 seconds.
She also earned bronze in the 400 meters on September 3.
Oksana Boturchuk is a lecturer at the Department of Special Physical Training at DSUIA. She is married with three children and sustained her vision impairment in a car accident. Born into a family of athletes, her father was a Master of Sports of the USSR in Sambo, and her mother was a candidate for Master of Sports in athletics. Boturchuk holds significant state awards, including the Order of Merit (I, II, and III degrees).
On July 22, 2021, the biographical film Pulse, dedicated to Boturchuk’s inspiring story, was released.
