Lecture for DSUIA cadets on International Day of Democracy

Each year, the world celebrates International Day of Democracy on September 15. In honor of this, the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Constitutional Law, and Human Rights organized a thematic lecture.

The lecture, titled “Historical Origins and Genesis of Democracy as a Social Phenomenon,” was attended by cadets from the Institute of Training Specialists for Preventive Units of the National Police of Ukraine. The session was conducted by Professor Olena MARCHENKO.

The lecture covered the evolution of democracy from antiquity to the present, with particular focus on current challenges in Ukraine during martial law.

Note: International Day of Democracy has been observed since 2007 as per a United Nations General Assembly resolution to promote and uphold democratic principles.
