The event for future consultants as part of the “Peer-to-Peer” program was organized by the Department of Psychological Support of Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs for 2nd and 3rd-year students.
During the session, students explored the topic “Leader’s Boundaries: Self-Care and Nurturing,” which is crucial for future law enforcement officers. Experts emphasized that police often work under stressful conditions, so they must understand the importance of setting healthy personal and professional boundaries and caring for their physical and mental well-being, especially when providing support to others.
The session covered the concept of boundaries for the “Equal to Equal” program consultants, roles, and responsibilities, and how to build emotional resilience. To understand personal growth areas, maintain mental balance, and work-life equilibrium, participants worked through Maslow’s hierarchy of needs.
Additionally, practical exercises were conducted to identify commonalities with colleagues, apply art therapy techniques, and explore internal resources for dealing with past stress. The “Social Support Map” exercise helped participants assess their social circle and determine which relationships provide reliable support during challenging or stressful situations.
Experts stressed that the topic discussed would help participants provide better peer support and maintain health and emotional resilience, which are the foundations of effective leadership.
