The event was held as part of a joint project by the OSCE Support Program for Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, and the National Police of Ukraine.
Cadets from the Faculty of Pre-Trial Investigation Specialists of the NPU, including Vadym Bolharenko, Vlada Smolyar, Roman Veklenko, and Viktoriia Kyrychenko, participated in the training. The students were introduced to the main trends and challenges in combating human trafficking and enhanced their skills in handling criminal proceedings with a victim-centered approach.
During the sessions, the cadets practiced conducting interrogations and interviews with victims of violence, and learned how to document relevant crimes, including the use of IT technologies. They also took part in an interactive quest, where they refined their crime investigation skills while playing the role of an investigative-operational group.
“One of the most valuable experiences was conducting searches, examining crime scenes, and interviewing victims. These tasks were carried out in conditions as close to reality as possible, requiring quick reactions and analytical thinking. It was a great way not only to reinforce theoretical knowledge but also to learn how to act in critical situations. Such classes make learning dynamic, engaging, and extremely effective,” the future law enforcement officers commented.
Upon completing the training, the cadets received certificates of advanced training in investigating human trafficking-related crimes, as well as commemorative gifts.
