Adaptation, Confidence, Productive Learning: Motivational Meetings for DSUIA Cadets

NEWS

Motivational events for first-year students of the Faculty for Pre-Trial Investigation Specialists of the National Police of Ukraine were organized by the psychological support department of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA).

For some students, the process of adapting to the educational environment at a higher education institution with specific learning conditions can be a challenging period in life. Young people find themselves in a dynamic environment where acquired skills and habits change, and an understanding of their future professional activities begins to form. Psychologists assist cadets in adjusting to these new conditions.

To facilitate cadets’ integration into the educational process, university psychologists regularly conduct motivational meetings with students. During these events, cadets learn psychological self-help and mutual assistance techniques, gain initial knowledge on stress management, and more.

Team cohesion plays a key role in adaptation, as mutual assistance, support, and the ability to express respect and camaraderie contribute to the successful resolution of tasks. Psychologists will continue holding such events for first-year students over the next two weeks.
