Short-Term Training on Key Provisions of Anti-Corruption Legislation, Professional Ethics, and Integrity

The authorized representative for anti-corruption activities at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA), Ruslan Lupyr, participated in the training.

The Anti-Corruption Prevention Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine (MIA), with the support of the NATO Building Integrity Program, conducted short-term training on key provisions of anti-corruption legislation, professional ethics, and integrity for authorized representatives responsible for preventing and detecting corruption in MIA subordinate institutions. The training was held at the Odessa State University of Internal Affairs.

The event was opened by the Rector of Odessa State University of Internal Affairs, Doctor of Law, Associate Professor, and Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine, Police Colonel Dmytro Shvets. Participants were also greeted by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Inna Yashchuk.

Nadya Milanova, Acting Head of the NATO Building Integrity Team (NATO Headquarters, Brussels), and Kure Knutsen, Senior Integrity Officer at the Ministry of Defense of Norway, discussed international approaches to fostering integrity in the security and defense sectors.

Iryna Tymchenko, Head of the Capacity Building and Public Sector Integrity Department of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), addressed the organization of the anti-corruption officer’s work, their legal status, key tasks, and guarantees of independence.

Serhiy Yaremenko, Deputy Head of the Anti-Corruption Prevention Department and Head of the Corruption Risk Management and Methodological Support Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, highlighted practical aspects of organizing the work of anti-corruption officers in subordinate institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

At the conclusion of the training, State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Inna Yashchuk, presented certificates to the participants and expressed gratitude to the partners for their active participation in preventing and combating corruption within the MIA system.
