Teams of cadets and students from the “Police Academy” participated in the event.
The Sambo wrestling championship was organized by the Department of Special Physical Training of DSUIA with the aim of promoting physical culture and sports, developing practical skills and abilities, fostering moral and psychological qualities in future police officers, improving their endurance, and encouraging youth to engage in regular sports activities.
After the performance of the National Anthem of Ukraine and a moment of silence to honor the fallen, the DSUIA Vice-Rector Ihor KOVALIOV addressed all the attendees.
Ihor KOVALIOV emphasized that sports are a crucial aspect of modern police officer training. He noted that Sambo wrestling provides the foundation for hand-to-hand combat skills, which law enforcement officers must master at a high level.
The competition involved teams from the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Units of the National Police of Ukraine, the Faculty of Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units of the National Police of Ukraine, the Educational and Scientific Institute for Training Specialists for Preventive Activities, and the Primary Professional Training Center “Police Academy.”
As a result of the competition, the standings were as follows:
1st place: Team from the 2nd year of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units of the National Police of Ukraine;
2nd place: Team from the 4th year of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Units of the National Police of Ukraine;
3rd place: Team from the 3rd year of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Units of the National Police of Ukraine.
