Weekly Tennis Training for Military Veterans Held at DSUIA

NEWS, Sport for military veterans

The event was organized by the Department of Special Physical Training at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA).

Sports rehabilitation for military veterans is one of the key activities at DSUIA, which has been implemented for over half a year. According to specialists, regular sports sessions help develop various muscle groups, offering effective rehabilitation opportunities.

Every Wednesday, DSUIA holds table tennis training sessions: veterans undergoing rehabilitation in the city’s medical institutions traditionally dedicate their time to the game under the guidance of Ukraine’s table tennis champion Vasyl KOVAL.

Table tennis has low injury risk and provides significant benefits in developing the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, making it the chosen activity for training individuals with disabilities at DSUIA.

Additionally, sports training assists in social rehabilitation—veteran athletes find like-minded individuals and do not experience a sense of isolation.

The event was held as part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ “Friendly Support” project initiated by the Department of Education, Science, and Sports. #friendly_support
