Donor Day: DSUIA Cadets Donated Blood

NEWS

Over 100 cadets, students of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA), and trainees from the “Police Academy” participated in a mass blood donation event. DSUIA Vice-Rector Ihor KOVALIOV also took part in the initiative.

The event traditionally took place at the Mechnikov Dnipropetrovsk Regional Clinical Hospital, where DSUIA representatives regularly donate blood for the benefit of military personnel. The head of the institution, Serhii RYZHENKO, opened the event by thanking the donors for their civic engagement.

DSUIA Vice-Rector Ihor KOVALIOV highlighted that many severely wounded soldiers can be saved thanks to timely blood transfusions. Therefore, the leadership, officers, and students of the university maintain a firm stance on systematic blood donation, recognizing it as a life-saving and essential procedure.

Preparation for the donation process begins in advance: donors follow a special diet, heed the advice of doctors, undergo a medical examination, and, if there are no contraindications, are cleared to donate blood.

Each participant donated about 400 ml of blood, which will help save the lives of wounded defenders.
