Combating Domestic Violence: Training for Patrol Police Officers at DSUIA

The event was organized by the Department for Professional Development and Specialization of the Institute of Postgraduate Education and Distance Learning at DSUIA, upon the invitation of the Department of Administrative Law and Procedure, within the framework of the course “Prevention and Combating Domestic Violence.”

Representatives of the Dnipro City Center for Social Services met with police officers undergoing long-term professional development: Olga KOKHAN, a leading specialist in social work from the mobile assistance team for victims of domestic violence, and Vita VOLKOVA, head of the specialized service for primary social and psychological counseling for victims of domestic violence and/or gender-based violence.

The experts discussed the services available to assist victims of domestic violence in the city of Dnipro.

The discussion covered the activities of the mobile team of the Dnipro City Center for Social Services, the work of the day center for social and psychological assistance to victims of domestic violence and/or gender-based violence (with a crisis room).

The principles of the specialized service for primary social and psychological counseling for victims of domestic violence and/or gender-based violence were reviewed, along with the operation of the hotline service.

The meeting was engaging and informative, sparking lively interest from the participants, who asked many questions and received detailed and professional answers.
