The session was organized by the Psychological Support Department of Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA).
Second-year cadets from the Faculty of Training for Pre-Trial Investigation Units of the National Police of Ukraine, the Faculty of Training for Criminal Police Units, and the Educational and Scientific Institute of Training for Preventive Police Units, who had been affected by the military aggression of the Russian Federation, participated in the session.
The session employed methods such as art therapy, narrative therapy, and work with metaphorical cards. These approaches provided a safe space for participants to share and reflect on their emotions, allowing them to process and integrate the traumatic experiences they had endured.
The session contributed to fostering a sense of closure regarding past events and acceptance of the present reality. The work done also helped reduce the risk of negative psychosomatic consequences stemming from difficult life events and aimed at their prevention.
Serhii VYSHNEVSKYI, Head of the Psychological Support Department, emphasized the need to continue these sessions, highlighting that a systematic, planned, and comprehensive approach to psychological assistance is key to its effectiveness.
