NEWS

Cadets of the Faculty of Pre-Trial Investigation of the National Police of Ukraine at the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA) participated in this event.

At the university’s specialized training area “Child-Friendly Crisis Room,” the cadets explored the topic “Specifics of Interrogating Minors Who Have Suffered from Conflict-Related Sexual Violence.” The session was conducted in a binary format, featuring Professor Viktoriia ROGALSKA from the Department and Irina SAMBORSKA, Deputy Head of the Unit for Criminal Cases Related to Sexual Violence During Conflict from the Office of the Prosecutor General, who joined the class online.

The cadets learned about international and national standards for investigating such crimes, the specifics of conducting procedural actions with minors who have been victims of sexual violence during conflict, and became familiar with child-centered interrogation techniques used by pre-trial investigation bodies.

After the class, the cadets had the opportunity to ask Irina SAMBORSKA questions, receive practical advice, and practice interrogation skills at the training area using the procedural interview methodology.
