The lecture was attended by DSUIA Vice-Rector, Police Lieutenant Colonel Ihor Kovaliov, students, and researchers from law enforcement educational institutions. The event at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs was held online.
Police Colonel Serhii Bolvinov, Deputy Chief of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kharkiv region and Head of the Investigative Department, brought extensive experience in crime investigation to the session. At the outset, he highlighted Ukraine’s unique position, where domestic police are tasked with investigating war crimes immediately following their occurrence.
The lecture covered evidence collection methods for war crimes by investigators and forensic experts, along with the unique challenges of investigating such crimes during an ongoing war. Special attention was given to data management systems, including data processing and analysis, essential for investigating SORC cases.
The knowledge gained is highly beneficial for both students and faculty, as this experience will be incorporated into DSUIA’s educational process.
