NEWS

The event was organized by the Department of Theory of State and Law at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law and Innovative Education, ahead of the international campaign “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.”

The online meeting featured Elizabeth VILKHOVA, an inspector from the Organizational and Analytical Department of the Department of Organizational and Analytical Support and Operational Response of the National Police Headquarters in Dnipropetrovsk region. It was held within the “Constitutional Law” course, initiated by senior lecturer Daria LAVRENKO.

During the session, students learned about the police’s step-by-step actions in cases of domestic violence—from calling the special line “102” and dispatching a police unit to the scene, informing citizens of their rights and responsibilities, and completing necessary procedural documents, to the final stage of bringing offenders to administrative or criminal liability. Attention was given to defining domestic violence actors, the forms it can take, and the appropriate qualification of such offenses.

The session also highlighted key tools for countering domestic violence, which enable effective response and support for victims while helping to prevent more serious consequences.
