The Department of Special Physical Training at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA) organized table tennis training sessions for military veterans.
Sports play a key role in the rehabilitation programs for veterans at DSUIA, where weekly training sessions are held for mixed martial arts, sitting volleyball, and table tennis. Experts highlight that table tennis is particularly well-suited for individuals with musculoskeletal impairments. This sport is characterized by a low risk of injury, and it helps strengthen muscles, improve respiratory and cardiovascular function, and enhance overall physical health.
The sessions are led by Ukrainian table tennis champion Vasyl KOVAL, who supports veterans in refining their playing techniques.
Many participants have been attending these sessions for over six months. They emphasize that table tennis has provided them with companionship, enjoyable leisure activities, and significant improvements in their mental well-being.
The training was conducted as part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ “Friendly Support” project, initiated by the Department of Education, Science, and Sports.
