Students from the Institute of Law and Innovative Education at the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA) visited the Dnipro Specialized Defense Prosecutor’s Office of the Eastern Region to learn firsthand about its priority areas of activity through practical examples.
The event was organized at the initiative of Iryna Dziuba, Head of the Department of Administrative-Legal Disciplines and Public Administration at DSUIA. The head of the prosecutor’s office, Yurii Tabaka, introduced the students to the specifics of the specialized defense prosecutor’s work, emphasizing the importance of coordinated interaction between the prosecution and pre-trial investigation bodies in investigating war crimes.
Vitalii Magera, Deputy Head of the Prosecutor’s Office, provided a detailed explanation of the stages of criminal proceedings, the prosecutor’s role within them, and the processes of cooperation with law enforcement agencies.
Elizaveta Vilkhova, an inspector from the organizational and analytical department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Dnipropetrovsk region, briefed students on police activities related to preventing, uncovering, and investigating war crimes and offenses committed by military personnel.
Participants also learned about drafting reports, work planning, and task execution control, which are essential components of prosecutorial activities.
Such initiatives enhance students’ understanding of the practical aspects of the profession and inspire them for further professional growth.
