“Protection of Children’s Rights Under Martial Law”: Open Lecture for DSUIA Cadets

The event was organized by the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Constitutional Law, and Human Rights at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs.

The lecture, conducted by Associate Professor Yuliia ZAVGORODNIA, commemorated the adoption of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child by the UN General Assembly. Cadets from the Educational and Scientific Institute of Training Specialists for Preventive Activity Units of the National Police of Ukraine attended the session.

Yuliia ZAVGORODNIA emphasized that one of the state’s primary responsibilities is ensuring children’s rights. She highlighted the necessity of implementing the principle of equality, which requires the prohibition of discrimination against children on any grounds. Special attention was given to the importance of preventing violations of children’s rights due to age or other characteristics that might restrict their ability to exercise rights on par with adults.

The lecture sparked significant interest among the cadets, encouraging discussions on pressing issues. The acquired knowledge will be invaluable for future law enforcement officers in their practical duties.
