As part of the International Campaign “16 Days Against Violence,” cadets from the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pretrial Investigation Units of the National Police of Ukraine participated in a lecture combined with a training session.
The intensive course was conducted by Christopher ELLIOTT, Advisor on Criminal Investigations of Organized Crime for the EU Advisory Mission (EUAM).
The event focused on Ireland’s experience in combating domestic violence, detailing police actions when responding to such incidents, as well as their interaction with victims, perpetrators, witnesses, and children. Strategies for managing aggressive behavior in offenders were also discussed.
Christopher ELLIOTT noted that Ukraine is currently facing challenges similar to those Europe encountered 30 years ago during legislative reforms. This makes Ireland’s experience highly relevant and valuable for future Ukrainian law enforcement officers.
The session concluded with practical case studies based on the EUAM expert’s policing experience, allowing cadets to apply and solidify their knowledge in practice.
