Students of the Dnipro Lyceum for Security Orientation and National-Patriotic Education named after Police Lieutenant Colonel Oleksandr Hostishchev visited a fire station of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU).
The event was organized as part of career guidance activities and patriotic education.
The cadets received detailed information about the history and functioning of the SESU, whose key tasks include:
• Responding promptly to emergencies, such as fires, accidents, and natural disasters;
• Conducting rescue operations and providing assistance to victims;
• Implementing preventive measures to avert crisis situations;
• Organizing training and drills for the public and security agencies.
During the tour, the cadets had the opportunity to see modern specialized equipment and tools used in emergencies. They also interacted with rescuers, who shared their experiences, discussed the specifics of their work, and demonstrated response protocols for emergency calls.
Special emphasis was placed on the professional and personal qualities necessary for this profession, such as responsibility, physical fitness, endurance, stress tolerance, and readiness for teamwork.
Such events help broaden young people’s understanding of rescue services and instill awareness of the importance of the rescuer profession in protecting citizens’ lives and safety. The visit to the fire station sparked genuine interest and respect among the cadets for rescuers who risk their lives daily to save others.
Continuing its traditions of patriotic education, the Dnipro Lyceum of the Ministry of Internal Affairs focuses on familiarizing youth with the activities of various security sector services, promoting their social engagement and awareness.
