A series of training sessions was held at the Department of Tactical and Special Training of the Educational and Scientific Institute for Training Specialists in Preventive Activities of the National Police of Ukraine.
The training program focused primarily on the use of the semi-remote demining system Hook&Line, working with metal detectors, and utilizing data collected via unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for planning police operations.
Participants explored various models of metal detectors and studied their application for detecting explosive devices. During the theoretical sessions, they discussed methods for marking safe passages and routes through minefields and identifying locations where explosive devices were found.
Practical exercises, supervised by TetraTech specialists, allowed lecturers to practice action algorithms for non-technical terrain surveys and response protocols when explosive devices are detected.
A dedicated course, “Analysis and Data Application from UAVs in Police Operations,” provided participants with insights into different types of drones, their functional capabilities, and the use of photogrammetry for surveying potentially contaminated areas. Attendees learned to operate drones and analyze and process data collected during flights.
The knowledge gained during the training will be integrated into the educational process at DSUIA, enhancing the preparation of specialists for the National Police of Ukraine.
