More Drivers: Two Students of DSUIA’s Driving School for Persons with Disabilities Receive Category “B” Licenses

NEWS

At the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA), new students of the Driving School for Persons with Disabilities have successfully passed their exams and obtained Category “B” driver’s licenses.

DSUIA’s Driving School was established to overcome barriers and provide individuals with disabilities the opportunity to acquire new skills. Among the students are military personnel who, after sustaining injuries, are striving to adapt to a new way of life.

One of the recent graduates, Serhii from Marganets, decided to learn to drive from scratch after sustaining multiple injuries, including a severe injury to his upper limb. While he had limited driving experience prior, he honed his skills under the guidance of the school’s experienced instructors. Serhii highlighted the professionalism of the teaching staff and plans to integrate driving into his future career.

Another student, Andrii from Samar, shares a similar story. During his service, Andrii already had driving experience, but after an injury, he needed to undergo retraining to continue driving. He independently mastered the theoretical aspects and turned to the DSUIA Driving School for practical training.

For Andrii, this is not his first educational experience at DSUIA—he previously earned a degree in Law from the university. His dedication and perseverance were highly praised by the instructors, and he expressed gratitude for their quality training.

Both students successfully passed their exams and received their driver’s licenses. The licenses were presented by Evhen KHOKHLOV, the head of the Driving School for Persons with Disabilities at DSUIA. Himself a military veteran, Khokhlov has learned to live, walk, and drive again after losing both limbs.

Applications to the Driving School for Persons with Disabilities at DSUIA can be submitted online.
