Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs held an online meeting with representatives of the Folke Bernadotte Academy (FBA) to discuss the development and implementation of a new educational program titled “Community Security in Wartime Conditions.”
The meeting included the participation of DSUIA First Vice-Rector Ihor MAGDALINA; Folke Bernadotte Academy representative and Head of Programs in Ukraine Karin Göransson SEDERSTRAND; Swedish Police Commissioner Max LATTEBORN; Chief Specialist of the Department of Science and Innovations, Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Iryna ROMANOVYCH; Head of the DSUIA Department of International Cooperation Tetiana CHUMACHENKO; Head of the Research Laboratory for Preventive Activities and Sociological Studies, DSUIA Police Training Institute, Major Iryna DROK; and representatives of the National Police of Ukraine, among others.
First Vice-Rector Ihor Magdalina expressed gratitude to the representatives of the Folke Bernadotte Academy, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the National Police for their active involvement. He emphasized the significance of developing the “Community Security in Wartime Conditions” program, which will be particularly relevant for restoring peaceful life in post-war Ukraine. Karin Göransson Sederstrand thanked DSUIA for organizing the event, highlighted the program’s importance, and wished success in its preparation.
A working group will be established to integrate modern knowledge and practices into the DSUIA curriculum. The group will focus on designing the course structure and aligning it with the requirements of the National Police of Ukraine. Participants shared DSUIA’s proposed program outline and identified key areas for collaboration during the meeting, which took the form of an interactive discussion.
Representatives of the National Police expressed their willingness to contribute to developing practical training modules for the program. The new course is planned to be incorporated into DSUIA’s educational process starting from the next academic year.
