A briefing was conducted for third-year cadets of the Faculty for Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units of the National Police of Ukraine at the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA) who are preparing for internships in practical police units.
The event opened with an address by the First Vice-Rector of DSUIA, Ihor MAHDALINA. He emphasized the significance of internships as an integral part of the educational process, highlighting the importance of discipline, personal safety, and compliance with the law during the practice period.
The Vice-Rector of DSUIA, Police Lieutenant Colonel Ihor KOVALIOV, stressed the mandatory adherence to Ukrainian legislation and the Code of Ethical Conduct for Police Officers. He also drew attention to the specific conditions of internships during martial law.
The Head of the Drug Crime Combatting Department of the National Police Headquarters in Dnipropetrovsk Region, Police Colonel Roman SLOBODIAN, underscored the importance of internships for gaining practical skills. He noted that the success of the internship depends on the cadets’ commitment to fulfilling their assigned tasks.
The Dean of the Faculty for Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units, Police Major Serhii BALABAN, emphasized the need for strict compliance with current legislation, personal safety, and the timely execution of planned activities during the internship.
The Head of the Department of Operational and Investigative Activities, Police Major Valerii DARAHAN, provided cadets with detailed information about the key requirements and provisions of the internship program. He paid special attention to the correct completion of documentation, particularly the internship diary, which will summarize the outcomes of the practice.
Additionally, the importance of adhering to anti-corruption legislation during the internship was underscored.
