Workshop for High School Students: Career Guidance Meeting at DSUIA

NEWS

The Department of Tactical and Specialized Training of DSUIA organized a session for 11th-grade students from Dnipro Lyceum No. 67 “Dzherelo.”

Prospective applicants participated in introductory workshops on basic mine safety and first aid. The lectures were conducted by Vadym FURSA, Head of the Department of Tactical and Specialized Training and Police Major, and Stanislava MYRONIUK, Associate Professor of the Department and Police Major.

During the session, students learned about key risks associated with explosive devices, as well as various types of mines, grenades, shells, their components, and operating principles. The officers emphasized safety rules in potentially hazardous areas and explained the actions required when encountering a suspicious object.

The students were also introduced to the basics of providing first aid, particularly stopping massive bleeding using improvised tools. The speakers highlighted that bleeding should be stopped by applying direct pressure to the wound and demonstrated the correct technique for applying a tourniquet to an injured person.

This event aimed to showcase the practical aspects of police training as part of the university’s career guidance activities.
