The Head of the Psychological Support Division at DSUIA, Serhii VYSHNEVSKYI, has attained the status of an accredited trainer under the “Universal Mental Health Training for Frontline Specialists” program.
The training primarily targets professionals who, due to the specifics of their work, frequently encounter individuals in challenging life situations. This includes police officers, emergency service workers, social service representatives, employment center staff, educators, child and adult leisure activity coordinators, pharmacists, and members of the clergy.
The purpose of the training is to enhance frontline specialists’ awareness of mental health and related disorders. Throughout the course, participants develop skills to identify, support, and refer individuals experiencing mental health disorders or acute conditions.
During the accreditation process, Serhii VYSHNEVSKYI conducted four training sessions with participants from the Primary Professional Training Center “Police Academy.” These sessions covered interaction algorithms for police officers working with various citizen groups. Participants praised the training’s universality and relevance, emphasizing the need for continued education in this area.
The course was developed under the Ukrainian-Swiss project “Mental Health for Ukraine” (MH4U), which supports the reform of mental health care in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. With the accreditation of the head of the psychological service, cadets, students, and trainees at the university will undergo the training in the future.
These initiatives were supported by the DSUIA leadership, including the university’s rector, Police Colonel Oleksandr MORGUNOV, and the rector’s assistant on gender issues, Larysa NALYVAYKO.
