“International Standards and Principles of Child-Friendly Justice”: Training at DSUIA

NEWS

The Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs recently hosted a training session for cadets specializing in Educational Security Services.

The event was led by Alina HORODNYCHENKO, a psychologist from the Psychological Support Unit of DSUIA, and Yevheniia ZHYDKOVA, a lecturer from the Professional and Theoretical Training Department at the “Police Academy” Training Center for Primary Professional Training, senior lieutenant of police.

The training aimed to develop participants’ understanding of psychology, emotional intelligence, and communication—key components for effective interaction with students and creating a supportive atmosphere in educational institutions. The organizers emphasized that future officers of the Educational Security Service must possess not only professional knowledge and skills but also the ability to consider children’s psychological characteristics and emotional states.

During the session, participants learned modern approaches to resolving conflicts, enhanced their communication skills, and strengthened mutual understanding within their surroundings. The event served as a platform for self-reflection, personal development, and the enhancement of professional expertise for future officers.

In addition, Mykola NAZARENKO, Director of the “Police Academy” Training Center, highlighted the ongoing collaboration with the Psychological Support Unit at DSUIA, noting that such training sessions are a crucial element of police preparation.
