First Graduate of the New Year: DSUIA Driving School Trainee Earns Driver’s License

NEWS

Yevhen has successfully completed training at the driving school for people with disabilities at Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs (DSUIA). He was ceremoniously presented with a category “B” driver’s license by DSUIA’s Vice-Rector, Police Lieutenant Colonel Ihor KOVALIOV.

Previously, Yevhen had some driving experience but did not possess a driver’s license. He planned to undergo formal training but developed mobility impairments due to illness.

When the time came to resume his education, Yevhen chose the DSUIA driving school and submitted his application. He acquired both theoretical knowledge and practical skills at the school. Initially, navigating busy roads was challenging, but with the support and expertise of the school’s instructors, he gained confidence behind the wheel.

Yevhen shared that he already owns a car and plans to modify it for hand controls.

The “Driving Schools for People with Disabilities” project, initiated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, is implemented under the National Strategy for Creating a Barrier-Free Environment, spearheaded by Ukraine’s First Lady, Olena ZELENSKA, through her initiative “Without Barriers.” The project aims to facilitate the social adaptation and integration of people with disabilities into public life by ensuring equal opportunities to acquire driving skills.
