Lecture by Donetsk Airport Defender Kyrylo NEDRIA Held at DSUIA

On the occasion of the Day of Remembrance for the Defenders of Donetsk Airport, a lecture was organized at the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs for students of higher educational institutions under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and pupils of security and national-patriotic education lyceums of the Ministry. The speaker was Donetsk Airport defender Kyrylo NEDRIA.

Kyrylo NEDRIA, the Director of the Dnipro Lyceum for Security and National-Patriotic Education of the Ministry of Internal Affairs named after Oleksandr Hostishchev, is a participant in the defense of Donetsk Airport. As one of the legendary “Cyborgs,” he served as a consultant during the filming of the eponymous movie, which has become a part of Ukraine’s modern history.

During the lecture, Kyrylo NEDRIA shared his personal story, professional journey, and military service experiences. As part of the 93rd Separate Mechanized Brigade, he spent 60 days engaged in battles for Donetsk Airport, carrying out combat missions.

The defender emphasized the importance of readiness to repel the enemy, cohesive teamwork with comrades, and the role of moral, psychological, and combat training as key factors for successfully completing tasks.

Following the main part of the lecture, attendees had the opportunity to ask questions. Kyrylo NEDRIA spoke about the choice of his callsign “Docent,” life in the airport terminals, reuniting with his family after returning from the war, the rehabilitation process, and more.

The event offered a unique chance to directly interact with a participant in historical events that have forever changed Ukraine.
